Course Introduction
2025 Summer Consecutive Interpreting Advanced Training Program
The consecutive interpreting mode is often used when interpreting for witnesses during direct examinations, cross examinations and depositions. Consecutive interpreting is also challenging part in the court interpreter certification exam. This class is specifically designed for candidates who are going to take the oral exam soon. Students will get familiar with legal jargon and high-usage vocabulary in different subjects and improve their skills through practice and rigorous training.
To be eligible for enrollment in this course, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
- Completion of the Consecutive Interpreting Boot Camp class prior to enrolling in the Summer Advanced Program; or
- A minimum of one to two years of interpreting experience; or
- Instructor evaluation approval for enrollment.
