The consecutive interpreting mode is often used when interpreting for witnesses during direct examinations, cross examinations and depositions. Consecutive interpreting is also challenging part in the court interpreter certification exam. This class is specifically designed for candidates who are going to take the oral exam soon. Students will get familiar with legal jargon and high-usage vocabulary in different subjects and improve their skills through practice and rigorous training.
To be eligible for enrollment in this course, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
Our instructors are veteran California court certified Mandarin Interpreters, some of whom have more than 10 years of interpreting experience, both in court and in the private sector. Our instructors have taught at the UCLA Extension legal translation and interpreting program. They are all experienced teachers who have trained current certified court interpreters.
