Today, our students come from across the United States, not only from California, but also from New York, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Illinois, Maryland, Ohio, Tennessee, Missouri, and Hawaii, among many others.
We now have several students from across Canada as well. Their participation has made our community even more diverse and dynamic, connecting interpreters beyond borders and time zones.
What began as a small effort to support a few aspiring interpreters has grown into a vibrant nationwide community. At The Chinese Court Interpreters, we are not only building a place to learn but we are building a professional home for Chinese interpreters from every corner of the country.
Here, students and professionals come together to share experiences, exchange ideas, and inspire one another. They support each other’s growth, celebrate milestones, and open doors to new career opportunities. It has truly become a family which connects Chinese interpreters across states and time zones, bound by a shared language, shared values, and a shared commitment to excellence.
"In December 2022, I found myself at a crossroads, uncertain about my career path and feeling lost. Though I had some volunteer interpreting experience with nonprofit organizations, I lacked formal training in professional interpreting. That’s when I met Teachers Ma and Mu, whose guidance transformed my journey.
In the spring of 2023, I enrolled in their consecutive and simultaneous interpreting courses. I was immediately struck by their exceptional professionalism and mastery of interpretation skills. Both teachers have an extraordinary ability to identify their students’ strengths and weaknesses with precision, offering constructive feedback and unwavering encouragement to help us grow. Their dedication to our advancement, both in skill development and exam preparation—was evident in every lesson, delivered without reservation.
Teachers Ma and Mu were always approachable, patiently answering my questions anytime, anywhere, with prompt and insightful responses. Through their mentorship, I was introduced to the professional world of interpreting, gaining the confidence and skills needed to succeed. I am now pursuing my court interpreting exams and working as a full-time freelance interpreter, primarily for USCIS office interviews and DOJ EOIR courts. I’ve been deeply honored to receive compliments from judges and counsels on my interpreting skills, professionalism, and ability to control rhythm during proceedings. I owe these achievements to the invaluable guidance and support of Teachers Ma and Mu.
What sets Teachers Ma and Mu apart is their humility and integrity. They never exaggerate their abilities or the accomplishments of their academy, as true professionals embody modesty and a commitment to excellence. Their genuine approach and dedication to their students’ success make them exceptional educators and mentors. I am forever grateful for their impact on my career and highly recommend their training to anyone aspiring to excel in the field of interpreting."

"A teacher is a lifelong learner who lights the way for others, helping them discover their own potential and purpose.
In my heart, Tracy and Mia are what true teachers are all about. They have never forgotten why they teach, to educate and inspire. They give it their all, and have dedicated themselves working to open our minds and show us new possibilities. They keep it real with us too, reminding us that dreams don't work unless you do. Thanks to them, we didn't just learn how to prepare for the exams, but also got a taste of the challenges and rewards we'll face in the real workplace.
Starting a new career is tough, and it's easy to doubt yourself. But having Tracy and Mia lead the way made all the difference. They helped clear the fog, so we could take that first big step with more confidence.”

"When I first started my journey of becoming a certified court interpreter, feeling overwhelmed was an understatement when going through all the information about this profession, the test, and how to prepare for it. It’s intimidating to hear how rigorous the test is, and I had no idea where to start. Today, I can confidently say that choosing The Chinese Court Interpreters’ training program was the best decision I made, not only for test preparation, but also for continuously improving my skills and broadening my career path.
Beyond the precise study strategies and comprehensive materials, what impressed me most was the professional yet highly personalized attention each teacher gave to every student. They provided encouragement to build confidence, set strict standards to push us to practice, and applied a meticulous approach to prepare us to the fullest. Their support extends far beyond the classroom, guiding you every step of the way.
The path to becoming a court interpreter is undoubtedly challenging, but I am convinced that this program is a wise and valuable investment of both time and money. I am grateful to have found these mentors and fellow students while working toward my goal, and I have every confidence that I will succeed one day.”
— Dora Li (San Francisco, CA)
Before taking this course, I felt overwhelmed by the thought of the state court interpreter exam. I've been bilingual my whole life, and had been working in the legal community for some time, but the expansive legal terminology and intense pressure of the exam felt completely out of reach.
Tracy and Mia were both incredibly knowledgeable and supportive the entire time. Their real-world experience as court interpreters shone through in every class – they provided practical example scenarios and training that helped deepen my understanding of legal interpreting. The courses offer a solid foundation, with structured practice sessions for sight translation, consecutive, and simultaneous interpreting. For even more personalized feedback, I also signed up for their one-on-one classes, and I have to say that was one of the best programs I’ve attended. During our private classes, Tracy and Mia were able to pinpoint and remedy my exact issues, from improving my note-taking technique during consecutive interpretation to easing my nervous hesitation when interpreting in simultaneous sessions. We worked through authentic, difficult legal material that was tailored to my pace and my language pair.
After completing the program, I went into my exam feeling calm and well-prepared. The class gave me the skills and confidence to not just face the test, but to pursue a professional career with a clear sense of purpose. From a personal standpoint, I also broadened and developed my own vocabulary in two languages, and came away from these classes with a renewed sense of purpose and professionalism.
I am confident in the program and I would recommend this to anyone who is looking to deepen their legal knowledge or take on a challenge in the interpreter exam, no matter their experience level.

"Before taking Tracy and Mia's courses, I had already spent one and a half years doing research and building up my mental preparation. Becoming a qualified court interpreter was a clear career goal for me, but due to being abroad and the time zone difference, I kept hesitating and couldn't make a decision to enroll in any course.
After communicating with Tracy multiple times, she shared her experiences as a professional court interpreter. She emphasized that while the job is not easy, it can be very rewarding if done well. Through these conversations, I became even more confident that this was the right path for me, and I finally made the decision to join the course.
My learning experience can be summarized into three key points:
1. Court interpreting requires a strong command of specialized vocabulary; it's not just about being good at English.
2. As a court interpreter, one needs a strong mindset, as each courtroom setting can be different and challenging.
3. Once you obtain the court interpreter certification, there are many job opportunities available, which can help achieve a good balance between work and personal life.”
