Sight Translation Exam Prep
The Sight Translation Exam Prep is designed for bilingual English-Chinese candidates preparing for the sight translation portion of the court interpreter oral examination. This portion of the exam requires candidates to read and comprehend written material in one language while delivering an accurate, clear, and fluent oral rendition in the other.
Throughout the course, students will practice with exam-style materials and timed exercises designed specifically for sight translation preparation. Focused exercises help students strengthen comprehension, sentence analysis, terminology recognition, accuracy, pacing, and oral delivery in both English-to-Chinese and Chinese-to-English sight translation.
Students will also learn practical strategies for identifying key information, processing complex sentence structures, maintaining appropriate pacing, and delivering a clear rendition under timed conditions. Through structured practice and targeted instructor feedback, students can identify areas for improvement and become increasingly familiar with the demands of the sight translation examination.
By the end of the course, students will have a clearer understanding of the sight translation portion of the oral exam and a more structured approach to continued practice and exam preparation.
