Simultaneous Interpreting Exam Prep
The Simultaneous Interpreting Exam Prep is designed for bilingual English-Chinese candidates preparing for the simultaneous interpreting portion of the court interpreter oral examination. This portion of the exam requires candidates to listen, process, and interpret continuously while maintaining accuracy, appropriate pace, and clear delivery.
Throughout the course, students will practice with exam-style materials and timed exercises designed specifically for simultaneous interpreting preparation. Focused drills help students strengthen listening and speaking coordination, processing speed, terminology recognition, concentration, and rapid reformulation between English and Chinese.
Students will also practice interpreting longer and more complex passages under timed conditions. Through structured practice and targeted instructor feedback, students can identify areas for improvement, develop more effective interpreting strategies, and become increasingly familiar with the demands of the simultaneous interpreting examination.
By the end of the course, students will have a clearer understanding of the simultaneous interpreting portion of the oral exam and a more structured approach to continued practice and exam preparation.
